Dynamic gestural line has always appealed to me, whether found in Nature, Abstract Expressionist painting, or Asian brush writing and art. I have been studying Chinese calligraphy and brush painting for several years, with the intent of accessing and visually expressing my inner energy. This invisible life force — which we all possess — is called qui, or chi , as well as other terms. My paintings are a fusion of Eastern and Western sensibilities.
